Decathlon Rent is an exclusive Decathlon service that allows customers to rent sports equipment across Italy. With an extensive range of items available to rent, Decathlon Rent can satisfy equipment needs across a wide variety of sports. You can rent sports equipment from authorised Decathlon stores and also from our authorised rental partners at sports venues.
The Decathlon shops and partner vendors where you can rent equipment will differ according to the sport you are interested in. Enter the place, sport and date in the search bar on the home page to see a map showing all the available collection points.
Renting the sports equipment you want is quick and easy. You can go to one of our authorised Decathlon stores and ask our staff about renting equipment available in-store. If you want to make sure you get the equipment you need, try the online reservation service rent.decathlon.it and get ready for your day of sport.
Online reservation of the sports equipment you need is fast, simple and secure. Simply go to rent.decathlon.it and select a collection point, the sport and the rental period. Once the items you want are in your basket, log into your personal account to pay the 20% deposit. You will receive a confirmation email that you will present at the store when you collect the reserved equipment and pay the 80% balance of the rental fee.
The deposit for your rental can be paid directly online by any credit card using the Visa, MasterCard or Visa Electron circuits, or by PayPal or Google Pay. The balance is payable in-store on the day you collect the equipment. The payment methods accepted in-store will depend on the systems in place at each rental location. If you are renting from Decathlon stores, the balance can be paid at the cash desk in cash, by credit or debit card, gift card or return card.
If you have a promo code, enter it in the yellow banner at the top right of the rent.decathlon.it home page before selecting a store, sport and rental period. After entering it, you will see the terms and conditions of use below the words, “DO YOU HAVE A PROMO CODE?” Alternatively, you can add it to your basket later, at the bottom of the ORDER SUMMARY, before continuing to the payment page. The discount amount will appear in the SUMMARY box in your basket.
You may not have received an email confirming your rental for one of the following reasons:
On the Decathlon Rent website, you can only choose the category of products that are available to rent, such as Jr Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Performance Skiing, MTB, Racing Bikes, etc. The images presented on the Decathlon Rent website are for illustrative purposes only and are not legally binding. Decathlon Rent stores and our rental partners offer premium quality equipment which is regularly checked and undergoes continuous maintenance.
Online rental reservations made on the Decathlon Rent website can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the rental start date. When cancellation is requested for a rental reservation within this time limit, the 20% deposit paid online will be refunded. This refund will be processed via the same method used to make the online payment, within 14 days of the reservation cancellation request. Any requests to cancel a reservation made after the legal time limit referred to above, or after the rental start date or after the sports equipment has been collected will not be processed. In such cases, Decathlon Rent will retain the deposit paid online as a non-returnable fee. In the event of total closure of ski runs or sports venues, illness or inability on the Customer's part to use the rented equipment during the rental period, the rental itself will remain effective and the amount due will be charged in full, unless agreed otherwise with the rental partner or store.
You can cancel your reservation by going to the MY RENTALS section of your personal account. When you click to SHOW DETAILS of the reservation you wish to cancel, you will see the “Cancel reservation” button at the end of the summary. After confirming, you will receive an email with all the details. If the “Cancel reservation” button is not visible, this means that the time limit for a refund has expired. If you need further assistance, please click CONTACT US at the top right of the page.
When a refund is due of the 20% deposit paid online, Decathlon Rent will issue it on behalf of the renting store within a maximum of 14 days of the date of request. If a Customer cancels a rental request before the reserved equipment has been collected and after the statutory withdrawal period, Decathlon Rent will retain the entire deposit as a non-returnable fee.
The reserved rental equipment must be collected from the Decathlon shop or rental partner specified in the reservation, details of which are also provided in the reservation confirmation email. The rented equipment will only be released to the person who has made the reservation after proof of identity has been verified. To receive the reserved equipment, the Customer must present a copy of the email confirming the reservation to the Decathlon store or rental partner. Rental commences when the customer collects the reserved equipment and ends automatically on the date stated on the rental voucher. The Customer must return the rented equipment to the same Decathlon store or rental partner it was collected from, during the establishment’s opening hours. Rented equipment may not be returned to a different location from the one stated on the reservation voucher.
The reserved equipment can be collected by the first day stated on the rental voucher. If collected from a Decathlon store, the equipment will be available from 5.00 pm on the day before the first day of rental stated on the rental voucher, at no extra cost. Decathlon Rent collection points are required to hold equipment reserved by the Customer until 10.30 am on the first day of the rental stated in the confirmation email. After this time, the reservation will be cancelled. The Customer will lose the benefit of the reservation and will not be entitled to a refund. At the end of the rental period, the Customer must return the equipment by the date stated on the reservation voucher. When equipment is rented from a authorised Decathlon store, it may be returned by 2.00 pm on the day after the return date stated on the rental voucher, at no additional cost.
By returning equipment after the time stated on the rental voucher the Customer will be charged a fee by the store or rental partner. The additional amount will be payable for each day after the agreed return date. Failure to return the sports equipment will be considered to be undue appropriation and subject to the criminal penalties set out in Article 646 of the Italian Criminal Code. Decathlon is not obliged to notify the customer of this by registered letter with advice of delivery and the Customer will have no recourse to argue an impediment.
The Customer is responsible for the safekeeping of the rented sports equipment from the moment he/she takes possession of it until it is returned. The Customer alone is considered liable in the event of damage, theft, or loss of the rented sports equipment, regardless of the reason and/or cause. If the Customer does not return all or part of the rented sports equipment, he/she will be required to pay the Decathlon store or rental partner the amount corresponding to the retail price of the unreturned sports equipment, in addition to the rental fee. The Customer must report any theft of rented sports equipment to the relevant authorities and immediately inform in writing the Decathlon store or rental partner that rented the equipment.
The Customer undertakes to return the rented sports equipment clean and in the same condition in which it was provided, subject to normal wear and tear. The Customer is liable for any damage to the rented sports equipment, irrespective of the cause, from the moment he/she takes possession of it until it is returned. As a consequence of this liability, the Customer will be required to pay the Decathlon store or rental partner the cost of repairing the equipment or replacing it entirely. Any repairs will be carried out solely by the Decathlon store or rental partner. Therefore, the Customer will not be entitled to have the repairs carried out independently.
In the event of circumstances of force majeure, rental stores will not be held liable for any delays in providing the reserved equipment. The third-party Customers delaying the return of previously rented equipment is also considered an event beyond our control. However, if the rental store is unable to provide the Customer with the reserved equipment, the store will make every effort to provide him/her with equipment of the same or higher quality, and the Customer will be refunded the amount paid for the reserved equipment.
In the event of early closure of ski resorts, due to the ongoing health emergency, preventing you from using the ski/snowboard equipment you have rented for the season, Decathlon will refund* part of the rental fee, taking account of the date on which the equipment is returned to the store**.
